Mandarin Students Celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival

Last week, students in the PCS Mandarin Program celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋节). They learned about the legends and traditions behind the holiday and discussed how the Mid-Autumn Festival compares with Thanksgiving and celebrations in other cultures.
Because family reunion is such an important part of the Mid-Autumn Festival, students also took some time to think about their own families. They made appreciation cards in Chinese and English for their loved ones - and celebrated together with mooncakes (月饼)!
The celebration gave students a chance to experience Chinese language and culture while also connecting to their own families, cultures, and traditions. It also reminded us what makes our PCS community so special: learning from one another, celebrating diverse cultures and experiences, and supporting one another along the way.
