PCS Students have held leadership roles in the Santa Cruz unit of the Sea Scouts for the past few years-- and this year their ship, the SSS Pearls, was named the National Flagship! The SSS Pearls is currently led by Boatswain Oly Bourcier  (PCS Senior)  and Skipper (PCS Alumni Parent) John Fisher.

John's son, Neelie Fisher (PCS Class of 2025), and Magnus Grigsby (PCS Class of 2025) both achieved the highest possible Sea Scout rank of Quartermaster last year, which requires similar dedication and effort as becoming an Eagle Scout.

According to the Sea Scouts website, "For over 100 years Sea Scouting has promoted better citizenship and improved members’ boating skills through instruction and practice in water safety, boating skills, outdoor, social, service experiences, and knowledge of our maritime heritage." Read more about the Santa Cruz Sea Scouts here and check out their ship, the SS Pearls, on youtube here. If you or your student are interested in learning more about Sea Scouts and joining the ship, contact PCS Senior Oly Bourcier at 26bourciero@pcscharter.org.
